FRIENDS OF THE RED RIVER NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE MISSION

The Friends mission is to be an advocate for the Red River National Wildlife Refuge (RRNWR) by promoting and participating in the conservation, enhancement, and appreciation of our native wildlife communities through education, fund raising, development of partnerships, and development of onsite projects for volunteers.

The Friends Vision and Values

VISION: It is the vision of The Friends to be recognized as a community resource for conservation education and information fostering the preservation of wildlife and their habitats.

VALUES: The Friends believe in

  • Promoting safety and accessibility to a broad spectrum of the community

  • Providing opportunities for environmental education and interpretation

  • Promoting public understanding and appreciation of America’s natural resources

  • Promoting stewardship, sustainability and conservation  

  • Fostering research to expand the history and understanding of conservation 


Friends Results: Garden with a Purpose

The Friends’ “Plant with a Purpose Garden Station” program serves as a platform promoting community engagement in environmental education and the benefits of using native plants. The Garden Station will provide a unique outdoor venue for hands on learning about native plants and their interaction with wildlife.
